Thunder Mountain to host Lakota Strongheart Warrior Society

The Thunder Mountain Lenapé Nation is honored to host a weekend presented by Duane Martin Sr. and other members of the Cante Tenza Okolakiciye, also known as the Strongheart Warrior Society of the Lakota Nation. This is an ancient Lakota warrior society that honors Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull among its members. Based on Pine Ridge Reservation, Cante Tenza, works tirelessly to protect the Lakota People, enforce and restore treaty rights, civil rights, and sovereignty of Native people, and protect Native culture across Turtle Island.

Teachings to include:

  • Lakota drumming, songs, dance
  • The significance of the White Buffalo to the Lakota
  • Ancient Lakota history and stories
  • Lakota resistance struggle
  • Life on the reservation
  • Decolonizing the mind
  • Native American Solidarity

Dinner will be served Saturday evening, as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We are asking that each family bring food to add to the meals.

We will be collecting a donation of $20 per day. Proceeds will go to the Cante Tenza Okolakiciye to help them continue there work across the Nation.

RSVP by visiting www.thundermtlenape.org/lakota.
